Innovatrics Releases Universal Facial Recognition Toolkit for Smart Cameras and Edge Devices

Innovatrics releases SmartFace Embedded Toolkit – a new facial recognition SDK that simplifies the development of embedded face recognition solutions and utilization of neural processing units (NPUs) on smart cameras and edge devices/AI boxes.

SmartFace Embedded Toolkit supports any facial recognition scenario and processes biometric operations including face detection, template extraction, liveness check, and matching directly on the edge or on a smart camera. New and innovative edge-to-cloud deployments are supported with significant hardware cost savings, eliminating the need for expensive servers and networks.

Consisting of lightweight libraries and solvers, SmartFace Embedded Toolkit enables developers to integrate facial recognition technology quickly and easily into various edge devices or embedded platforms, such as smart cameras, smart glasses, AI boxes, access control terminals, kiosks, or wearables. In addition to its facial recognition capabilities, other modalities are to be added later this year, including person detection, person attributes and object detection.

As the customer journey takes the touchless and seamless path, our next-generation universal toolkit makes this transition possible. It paves the way for accurate and fast face biometrics for embedded platforms by optimizing the performance of even low-power OEM/embedded devices and NPUs. Designed to be highly portable, SmartFace Embedded Toolkit has a low footprint, great performance and comes with flexible licensing options to support a wide range of applications.

Built for the 2 main CPU architectures, x86, and Arm, our universal SDK also supports custom NPUs – accelerating biometric operations on graphic/AI chips from Ambarella, HAILO, NXP, NVIDIA, RockChip, and Blaize. Custom porting of the SmartFace Embedded Toolkit and neural network conversion can similarly be provided to support other platforms and their NPUs.

As a globally trusted biometric vendor, Innovatrics has been providing fingerprint and face SDKs to numerous time and attendance and access control providers. We have also formed partnerships with international biometric devices vendors, including HID, ZKTeco, TBS, and Control ID to develop solutions that continue to benefit the lives of millions.
